In the evening following their tembeat (I think that's what the girl told me it was called), they served their masterpiece: sweet potato soup with ginger. Again, it was delicious.
I had two classes today: Marriage, Family, & Kinship and Inter-Asia Cultural Studies. Unlike my engineering professor, both speak English well. The professor for the second class, Professor Katrien Jacobs, is from Belgium and does not even speak Chinese. Unlike my engineering classes, both seem really interesting and I'm super excited about them. It seems like Professor Jacobs has a particular interest in Japanese culture, because the syllabus was full of anime and other Japanese references; since that is one of my interests, I definitely cannot complain. The only rough part about the class is that it is literally at the opposite end of campus.
My dorm is pretty secluded in the top left and the classroom building is down by the larger track near the bottom of the map. At least it's not an 8:30 am class or I'd have to give myself a good 45 minutes to ensure I make it on time with the bus schedule. In fact, none of my classes (in my tentative schedule) are early right now. Its bizarre; I tried to find early classes to fit my Monday through Wednesday goal and none were even offered then. I guess God finally feels bad for my previous 5 semesters of 8:30's and 9:30's. This could change since my schedule isn't 100% decided yet.I'm feeling a lot better about being in Hong Kong now. I think jetlag wearing off, getting used to everything, and finalizing my schedule more has reduced a lot of stress. I'm hoping it will be a great semester.
One last thing: on a more positive note, my butt is in intense pain from the countless steps and hills I have to walk up and down everyday. At least it will be in good shape.

Great to hear that your new classes are going so well! Especially that most of them have english speaking teachers. In fact, I have 2 teachers this semester that don't speak english well at all.
